The
Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the
sale of Cornelius J. Haucks "History of the Book" collection at Christie's this week blew away the estimates - the auction sessions brought in more than $10.5 million in bids, more than double the pre-sale number of $4.5 million. Francis Wahlgren, head of Christie's book and manuscripts department said of the sale "We haven't felt such electricity in the air during a book auction in many years."
