Mancall to Write Oxford Volume

I'm thrilled to report (slightly belatedly - apologies) that Peter C. Mancall, Professor of History and Anthropology at the University of Southern California, will be writing the first volume in the Oxford History of the United States series. According to Mancall's faculty website, the book will be called American Origins, and will cover the history of American through c. 1680 (the second volume, Imperial America, is being written by Fred Anderson and Andrew Cayton, and is expected around 2013).

I learned this from the 4 September podcast of "New Books in History," which I just listened to this morning.
