Fine Books & Collections will release its top fifty books sold at auctions in a couple months, but they've posted a
preview: the top ten sales range from $781,000 for the 1595 Mercator atlas sold at Sotheby's to $5.2 million for the 1623 Shakespeare First Folio (also auctioned by Sotheby's). Nine of the top ten sold for more than a million bucks, with four fetching in excess of $2 million.

Good to see this. It should be noted that the Shakespeare Folio which made over £2 million was in poorish shape with a warped title page. Otherwise it would have, presumably, made a lot more. I think the sale also helped a religious community but may have got that wrong. Nigel
