February Fine Books

The February issue of Fine Books Notes is out today. It includes a great piece by Nick Basbanes on a book which shaped Abe Lincoln's life, and you'll also find my first column for the magazine, about Hakimzadeh's thefts from the BL and the Bodleian. I'll be writing there on book crimes every second month.

Many congratulations on your first column in Fine Book Notes! It's disturbing to see reverence for great works turn to greed. Also, I believe I failed to introduce myself in my last comment. I'm that slightly obnoxious undergrad in Michigan who contacted you via LT about Simmons. I'll apply later this month, and the opinions and information you've supplied have been invaluable. Thanks!
