At a Drouot sale on Tuesday, a signed copy of Baudelaire's Les Fleurs de Mal made a record price, selling for 775,000 Euros ($1.17 million), more than five times its presale estimate. The book was sold along with letters and other items from Baudelaire's library (which sold together fetched more than 4 million Euros). A letter in which Baudelaire discussed an 1845 suicide attempt also set a record, selling for 225,000 Euros.
