The Music, Continental and Russian Books and Manuscripts sale at Sotheby's London today brought in £1,518,775, with just 139 of 250 lots selling by my count from the results listing. Full results here. The top lot came early (Lot 7), with an early draft of Beethoven's Opferlied Op. 121B doing slightly better than expected at £157,250. A Mozart manuscript also did well, fetching £121,500.
In slightly less than a day the American Experience sale (preview) gets underway at Bonhams New York - I'll report on that once the numbers are in.
